Ringo

Comics

First panel of Ringo. Aerial shot of Ringo, who is dressed in a white shirt, brown vest, red pants, and cowboy boots lays facedown. A handgun is in his hand, and a cowboy hat sits on the ground by his head. Text reads, “He lay facedown in the desert sand…”

Short comic based off of the lyrics to the first verse of Ringo by Lorne Greene. I’ve always loved this song and imagined it as a T4T romance. Try listening to the song as you scroll through to get the full experience!

Second panel of Ringo. Close-up of Ringo’s hand holding his gun. Text reads, “Clutching his six-gun in his hand”

Third panel of Ringo. A person on a horse pulls their reins as they look down at the silhouette of Ringo on the ground. The brim of their hat obscures most of their face. Vultures circle in the sky overhead. Text reads, “shot from behind / I thought he was dead.”

Fourth panel of Ringo. Aerial mid-shot of Ringo’s head and shoulders. A hand pulls Ringo’s shoulder back to reveal a pool of blood with a bullet inside. Text reads, “But under his heart was an ounce of lead.”

Fifth panel of Ringo. Aerial mid-shot of Ringo, who is now lying on his back. His shirt is cut open to reveal a bleeding wound on his chest and healed top surgery scars. A pool of blood can be seen beneath his shoulder, next to which is a bloodied knife. Text reads, “But a spark still burned / so I used my knife.”

Seventh panel of Ringo. Aerial shot of Ringo, who is laying on his back with a bandage over his wound. A blanket is draped over his stomach, and his arm and hand rest on top of it. His gun has been placed beneath his hand, and a large pool of blood next to him contains the text: “of Ringo”

Sixth panel of Ringo. Silhouette of the speaker tending to Ringo next to a lit campfire against a night sky. Text above the image reads, “And late that night I saved the life”

Bonus sketches:

Sketches for Ringo depicting line drawings of the various scenes in previous panels.
